Regimental honours in Bayonne 2009

In 1814 the Third Regiment of Foot Guards (the Scots Guards) fought a challenging battle for possession of the French garrison town of Bayonne.
The day was won, but with heavy losses on both sides.
In December 2009 a party of officers from the Third Guards Club (French branch) visited the grave of the five fallen comrades. The Regimental adjutant laid a wreath at the cemetery.
A piped Lament was played and the Last Post sounded.
